Facemasks are our new reality, but we can't ignore the confounding controversy surrounding them. This simple facial covering used to prevent transmission of the coronavirus has turned into a contentious political disagreement split by party lines. Instead of being an issue about life and death, the conversation has become dominated by freedom and choice as a constitutional right.
